What this service is
Transparent Council republishes UK local council spending data drawn from councils' own public disclosures, cleaned and organised for public-interest transparency, journalism, research, and civic use. See our methodology for how the data is built.
No warranty
Data is provided "as is". We work to normalise and de-duplicate council disclosures accurately, but we can't guarantee the completeness or accuracy of the source data councils themselves publish. Verify anything high-stakes against the originating council's own published disclosure before relying on it.
Acceptable use
You're welcome to search, cite, and build on this data for journalism, research, and civic use, with attribution. Bulk scraping or commercial redistribution of the full dataset isn't covered by this general use — get in touch if you're interested in data licensing.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the product and company develop. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
